Any advice or tips on getting over a fear of flying on planes. i usually get kinda closterphobic?

i have flown before and been fine but this time i am just really freakedAny advice or tips on getting over a fear of flying on planes. i usually get kinda closterphobic?
Try these sites below...may be of some help...Any advice or tips on getting over a fear of flying on planes. i usually get kinda closterphobic?
how about getting one of those battary operated mini fans and take it with you and try to use it while closing your eyes if your sitting down or try walking around with it... might help having some fresh air on you ;)
fly first class, more room, and get a window seat.

heck, I fly all the time, no problem but these crowded flights make me claustrophobic too!
Trust me: if you've done it before, you can do it again.
chew gum, close your eyes, and hope for the best.

try not to sit by the window seat. if you have to, concentrate on the scenary. it's really cool once you're up in the air.
planes could make you closterphobic, just try and think of how much space there is. if you are especially nervous tell a flight attendent. that's what they are there for! don't read! listen to relaxing music, get comfy, stretch your legs every so often.
i am one of those people who believe that if it does not feel right you shouldn't do it,,i don't like to fly anyway,,but i would say if you got a bad feeling about it,,don't do it,, we all have a built in warning system,,when we think something is not right,,i firmly believe in following it,,i hope this help,s.
get an idea how a plane flies...bernouillii law, newton,...

and next time u take the plane, u will feel confident.
get some reading material on flying an airplane and get a window seat on the wing, so you can look outside and see what the plane does.

if you understand what happens when and why, you will feel more in control and less scared
Window seat?

Other than that you're kinda screwed I think heh =]
Ask for an outdoor seat.
Try positioning the little nozzle above your seat to blow air over your face. The breeze should have a calming effect.

  • Photography work...tips and advice please!?

I think i'd also love taking picture's at weddings...Photography work...tips and advice please!?
keep taking photos - practise makes perfect!

be your own critic - it's tough, but you learn from it.

also create your own portfolio, so that you can show off your work at interviews etc. fill it with your best photos.

take up a photography course at college or something similar, it helps to have a bit more skill and know how, and will teach you better/new techniques.

keep taking photos of horse events and if you go to any weddings take loads of photos, but also widen your subjects, look at landscape, portrait, and fashion photography etc. you may find you want to specialise in one of those categories as well.

make sure you really want to do it as a career. the more you want something, the more you'll push to get it!

just keep practising! good luck!Photography work...tips and advice please!?
Stick with the horse events for now. Go, take pictures, be very critical of your work. Work on different types of shots, perfecting them. Get a good hold of how to do panning type shots, getting your timing down for jumps , posing horses and always keeping your eyes open for good background for shots.

Work on that first. Taking pictures at a wedding is like going to a new dentist for a root canal, especially one named Dr. Savagehammer or something painful and destructive sounding.

Advice for the future, practice. Be very critical of your work, study others and make notes of what you like and dislike and do your best to incorporate those aspects into your own photography. Develop your skills and you will develop a style. Don't try to get too diverse, but at the same time don't get yourself stuck in a rut where you're only taking one type of picture. MAKE a good photo, don't just wait for it to happen.

    Good Luck to you.
    Many years ago Louis Armstrong was walking through New York when someone rushed up to him and asked ';How do I get to Carnegie Hall?'; His answer is very appropriate to you, which was: ';Practice Man, practice.';
Plenty of good advice there Lucy! Shoot lots of photos, look for tutorials on composition, exposure and lighting. Best of luck!
    Ok.

A good site to join is http://www.redbubble.com/ and has helped me a lot, by getting critique and lots of help and advice. Totally free also.

As for taking pics at weddings, you had better get a PT job with a photographer for a couple of years so you can learn all the tricks of the trade, lighting, and everything else.
Take LOTS of pictures, and be very critical of your work. Your reputation is made, not by what you show, but by what you throw away

What it is like to have twin babies? What are some tips/advice? Pros? Cons?

Did you have exaggerated pregnancy symptoms? Short women: Could you even drive? Just wondering cause I'm really short and I have to have the seat up all the way anyway. I can't even imagine how a pregnant belly could fit lol. What it is like to have twin babies? What are some tips/advice? Pros? Cons?
I absolutely love being a twin mom, you get two for the price of one pregnancy :D From 25 weeks and on I couldn't drive, I drove maybe a couple times, but otherwise my SO drove me everywhere. We had to get a van afterawhile, not just because we needed the space for two carseats, but I couldn't get out of my car anymore. I'm not short either, so yeah that would be even harder for shorter women.

The first month is tough, but it's such a blessing. good luck with your little ones :D

Growing bulbs in pots. Hints, tips and advice?

I'm just about to move from a house to a flat with a balcony. I want to have a couple of pots on the balcony, one with a rose bush and lavenders in it and one with bulbs. I know I want Snake's Head Fritillaries, Gladioli and Snowdrops as they're favourites, but what do I have to do about rotating and storing the bulbs? Any other suggestions for seasonal colour (and/or flowers to cut and bring indoors)? I'm also considering herbs in pots - are these best on the balcony or on the kitchen window sill? I'm not particularily green fingered but I'm working on it! Any help appreciated, thanks in anticipation, :)Growing bulbs in pots. Hints, tips and advice?
Snowdrops do well in pots, it would seem that you will be limited for space so make each pot work hard to earn it's space.

Plants bulbs that will flower consecutively in one pot, eg. snowdrops then an early flowering daffodil then tulips. Plant the later flowering bulb the deepest.

Choose shorter varieties, they will look neater and produce less leaf so be easier to keep tidy.

Lillies do wonderfully well in pots and have a fantastic perfume, try Casa Blanca.

Alliums are happy in pots as well, try Allium schubertii,

You might have a problem with the frits, they should bloom the first year but will slowly fade away.

If you can afford the space leave the bulbs in the pots. Otherwise lift them once the leaves have died down and store in paper bags in a cool dark place. I never bother to keep tulips, they never flower as well the second year, just buy new.

Herbs need more space than you can give on a windowsill but Basil is OK indoors.Growing bulbs in pots. Hints, tips and advice?
It depends upon the needs of your herbs individually as to where you should put them. Look each one up and see where it should go. If you have a sunny windowsill, it should suffice; but some herbs are sensitive to too much sun. Most generally do well with southern or eastern exposure.

Bulbs often need a certain amount of chilling, but you can buy them precooled. It depends upon again, what you want to grow.

Do Any One Have Any Tips Or Advice For Auditioning For Laguardia Highschool For The Drama Department?

I really Want To Go To That School For The Drama Department. Do any one that has graduated or is in this school have any tips or advice for auditioning, like to take classes to get better, to have more experience....etc....No stupidity plzDo Any One Have Any Tips Or Advice For Auditioning For Laguardia Highschool For The Drama Department?
Hi I can help you with tips and advice. I auditioned for Laguardia for vocal I got rejected though but I can definetly tell you what to expect first there might be alot of people there trust me, your gonna be waiting there around 2 mostly 3 - 5 hours just so you can audition, IT IS NOT EASY! But lets say your audition is around 7:30 trust me get there at 7:30 the earlier you get there the earlier you get to audition and start, First your gonna wait a little while depends how early you get there so you wait a little while and someone will come down and take you up the escalators then you fill out this blue paper asking you your name and your schools address? and why you wanna go to the school blah blah blah etc. then after you wait this is probably the hardest part you wait and wait till they call your name, when they call your name you go in the room try to be your self as much as you can dont show them your nervous and dont look down cause i did the exact opposite and i didnt get in, so show them you and your gonna preform 2 1 minute monologues (lines from a play that last for 1 minute involving only one character) make sure you choose someone around your age, youtube has some good videos on how to develop acting skills, heres the requirements for the DRAMA STUDIO i got directly from the site :

Suggested Plays in Which to Find Monologues for the Audition. For a printable version of this list, http://www.laguardiahs.org/application/m鈥?/a>

AND HERE ARE THE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DRAMA AUDITIONS:

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions -- Drama

Q: What is required for the audition?

A: Prepare performances of 2 one-minute monologues. They should be contrasting prose pieces (not verse or classical works such as Shakespeare or Moliere) from published plays or monologue books. The characters you are portraying should be young 鈥?close to your own age. Avoid playing characters with obvious physical or speech characteristics very different from your own.

Q: Can I prepare something I鈥檝e written myself or something that is not from a play?

A: No. Do not select pieces that you have written yourself or passages from novels, short stories, or poems. In addition, we suggest staying away from screenplays.

    Q: How should I dress?

A: Wear something comfortable that you can move in. Avoid jewelry and costumes. It is you that we are interested in seeing.

Q: Where can I find and/or purchase suggested plays or monologue books?

A: In addition to the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library (with an entrance across the street from our school on Amsterdam Ave.) You can also find suitable plays and monologue books at the following bookstores:

    Drama Book Shop (250 W 40th St., between 7th and 8th Avenues) 212-944-0595

you can also find some of the monologues on the internet

I need advice on how to get a babysitter? Advice and tips ?

I would like different opinions. There are so many options from a family daycare provider (these are people licensed through the state to do childcare), to a private babysitter and then is it best to drop the baby off or have the sitter come to your home, and there is also daycare/nursery programs. What have you found is best in your experience? I would like to hear from moms who have done this a couple of times.I need advice on how to get a babysitter? Advice and tips ?
I run a home daycare, only watching 2 babies my daughter's age, BUT I would never put my own children in one. Having one woman watching kids of multiple ages just isn't right. I have heard horror stories from friends with kids where they went to pick up their kid and a newborn was sitting in a car seat on top of the table. How is that safe with a bunch of 2-3 year olds running around on the floor? Takes one bump for baby to fall.

To me, the best place to leave MY child is in a large daycare where my child is in a room with other kids their age and multiple ';teachers';. If your 3 month old is in a room full of 0-9 month babies no one will be stepping on them or hitting them... and your 2 year old in the 2 year old room will have all toys at his level and age appropriate games and songs. Also, having multiple teachers in one room makes it so you KNOW that they can't hit your child or neglect your child because there is someone there who can step in and stop them.

Having a nanny is all well and good, but it costs a lot more and again you have the whole she is alone with your child and how do you know what really happened during the day? Did your child cry in a crib for hours while she painted her nails and watched tv?I need advice on how to get a babysitter? Advice and tips ?
First of all Family but if you don't have any around I would look into larger daycares but with PLENTY of teacher's. You want to make sure that the ';teacher'; to child ratio is 1 teacher to every 3 children or so depending on the age. OR when I was younger my mom worked nights and had an older woman who had children that were all grown come to ur house and watch us. We called her Aunt Doris even after we didn't need her as our sitter anymore. She was fantastic and knew how to care for us having 3 adult children of her own. I myelf thought of running an ad in the newspaper and putting in the ad that a extensive background check would be done along with police reports etc. This would weed out anyone that had a bad past/record trying to apply ya know? Good luck with your search!!! I hope you find someone you will feel safe with!!
First of all this all depends on how old your child is. If your child is under age 3 and you decide on a family daycare then you are going to pay alot more than if your child was 3 years of age due to the fact that they are in diapers and needing to be changed alot more and schedule of their eating habits (when they have a bottle etc)...I have nothing against a private babysitter in your own home, but you have to have the trust so that nothing gets broken or stolen out of your home, in other words someone you may know or some friends that may have given you someone that they know. (You know what I mean)..Dropping a child off at a private babysitter once again there is nothing wrong with it, but they may not have First Aid which I think is very relevant when babysitting a child. Group Daycare are good, but once again can be expensive if your child is under age 3. If you take your child to any daycare/nursery program it is good for them because they may be around children there own age, but the downfall is your child will get what ever is going around, flu, cold, chicken pox etc...

What ever you do make sure you do your homework..go and talk to the daycare provider, ask for references, ask for an up to date First Aid certificate..(they are issued every 3 years and they must go for a refresher course when it is coming due). A final note...there are pros and cons to every situation whether its in your home or outside of your home, it depends on your situation and what you think will best fit your family situation. Good Luck.
My opinion would be family member and it could be a rotation of location or anywhere if it's family. Otherwise, hire (newspaper, church/synagogue, Craig's List), background check them, and put cameras in the home that you can watch from your office computer to monitor, just in case. My mother watches my daughter (single dad) during the day and that makes me feel that she's safe. I don't like daycare programs because of all the germs involved: there could have been thirty sick toddlers playing with that uncleaned toy before yours, think of that.
