I'm auditioning Monday for a school play. Any tips or advice? improvisation?

I'm an eighth grader. I got the lead last year but this year is different. We are reading from a monologue so it should be really good. Last year it was cold reading. We also have to do an improvisation which is different and i'm not so good at it. Any tips?I'm auditioning Monday for a school play. Any tips or advice? improvisation?
Be yourself, speak loudly and clearly. Act natural with your body motions. Just really get into the monologue. Pretend that you are that character, get inside their head. Also, maybe fifteen minutes before the audition, rehearse the monologue, try out different moods and characters that you think fit the monologue. Figure out who you want to be saying this monologue. With the improv, do the same thing. Whatever the director tells you, just react as if you were a certain character. Like, if you were a ballerina with emotional distress, how would you react to getting kicked off the ballet team? (bad example, too tired to be creative. :P) Just relax and don't fret. If you don't get in the play this year, there's always four more years of high school and the rest of your life after that. Break a leg!!!!I'm auditioning Monday for a school play. Any tips or advice? improvisation?
Well i auditioned for highschool musical and i made it.It was very pressuring because you had 100 other people auditiong for the same part.Just be yourself,be funny, and if you mess up.get back up and keep on moviing

Let me try to throw out some pointers to ya. If the monologue has to be memorized then just go in as well prepared as possible. Meaning, have it prepared as if it was an opening night of a show. If you just have to read it, then ask if you may have some time to read over the monologue. This is typical, to ask for time, if you don't get the material before the audition. Take a couple of minutes to read over it, don't memorize it, but just get familiar with. With this you will be able to keep eye contact with a partner or just keep your eyes out of the script so you can be seen.

As far as improv goes it depends on what you have to do. But for a general introduction I would say just stay true to the character you develope. If you are given the suggestion of being a bear, then you might walk slower and make your voice deeper. The main thing is make a choice!!!! Because if you go for something and it doesn't work the crowd it will look worse if you try to change what you are doing. Another thing is build off of things you already know. If the suggestion is a crazy old person, then you might say well that sounds like the old cat lady down the road. So you build a scene by being that lady, because you have seen her and you know what she is like. If you want to further educate yourself in improv I would check out the book Truth in Comedy. It helped me out a lot.

Last thing, MAKE SURE THEY CAN HEAR YOU! Be seen and Be heard and you will be fine. Go Luck!
improv isn't that hard, just go over your line and practice what your gonna say or what you might say, make sure you breath too, it can get pretty scary up there so don't forget to breath, when its all done you'll be OK, its like getting a shot, your scared before you get it but after, it wasn't that big of a deal.

I wanna go on a 2 week holiday 2 Vietnam, any tips, advice or useful websites?

How adventurous are you ? are you traveling alone ? . Don't let the traveling alone bit put you of at all as i found Vietnam the safest country in SE Asia for a woman to travel(the only hassle you get is westerners). The cheapest and best way to travel is to get a flight only and i would suggest to Saigon . Before you go have a good read up on the place i suggest ';The Rough Guide To Vietnam'; %26amp; ';The Lonely Planet'; the rough guide i find better, and have a look what it says and what appeals to you.

You have to stay in Saigon for at least 3 days to get all the place's of interest in plus the trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels . Then make your choice about which beach , the Best is Mui Nei (phan thiet) about 4 hours cheap taxi drive . Or you could go to Nha Trang by a short cheap flight or the excellent and cheap train journey . Hotels are so cheap you are better off turning up at the door . First time visitor i think Nha Trang may be better as there are more things to do and places close to see . Travel light as you will see so much to buy you will feel sick that you can not carry it home(clothes are so cheap and good quality) . A few ideas there , i also recommend Hoi An and Hue .

Have a great time you will not want to come homeI wanna go on a 2 week holiday 2 Vietnam, any tips, advice or useful websites?

Any tips or advice on how to draw?

Im 11 years old and i loved drawing since i was 4. I love drawing and doing alll that art stuff but the problem is that im not good at it! Please, i really need some help. Does anyone have any art tips or advice for me? thanks a lot. oh and forget about saying that i should take classes cause' i know i should already but my parents wont let me. Ok, thanks again.Any tips or advice on how to draw?
If you have ever looked inside of a book of ';how to draw'; instructions, you will notice that they start out the exercises by having you draw the various shapes that go together to form an image. Here is a link. I know that it isn't that interesting but it shows what I am talking about.

http://webkinzworld101.files.wordpress.c鈥?/a>

When you draw you have to look for recognizable shapes and draw them. They may not all be exact circles, squares, triangles. But look for any shape that you see and can draw. Draw lightly at first so that once you have all of the shapes drawn in you can cleanly erase all of the unnecessary lines.

Google,';How to draw'; using Google images for more step-by-step examples of this,And there are more interesting examples than the one I gave you. I selected something simple to use as an explanation. And it takes practice, you are training your eye and hand to work together. Learn to draw from observation. Draw different things Copying can lead to only being good at what you' regularly copy.

Here is a tip: If something in your drawing looks really out of wack but you can't quite tell what's wrong.turn the drawing upside down and look at it.. The part that is out of wack should get your attention pretty quick and you may see what is needed to correct it.Any tips or advice on how to draw?
There a a ton of first, second and advanced level books in your library plus take you time when drawing. The best thing that helps me draw is to draw it several time. Then I can get the rhythm of things. Try looking at something and drawing it. Like your computer screen, or living room. These are called photo realism pictures. They will help you take the picture from your eyes, to your head, to your hand.

or take a coloring book and try copying the pictures in there. The coloring book will not be that detailed but you can still learn a ton.

Good luck.
Drawing on The Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards, is a book that will REALLY help your skills improve. It's like a drawing course in a book, and is good for any age. Good luck!
Draw what you see, draw a lot and you'll start getting better. And learn to use shading. If you don't use shading your drawings will look like crap.
I have a blog and some tutorials, maybe they will help:

http://www.mikemalaska.com/tutorials.htm鈥?/a>
There are a lot of approaches you can take to drawing what you want. For instance, if you look at a chair you can try to draw the shape of the negative spaces, such as what you see between two of the legs. If you want to draw a tree first look at the proportions of leaf masses to trunk, and of the masses of leaves to each other. Then look at the silhouette of the tree, the dark and light values, and the textures.

In drawing a human there is more than one way to get to where you want to go. Some artists use projectors, and some use tracing paper. A book on drawing might tell you that if you want to draw a portrait then start by drawing a slightly egg shaped oval, divide it up with lines according to the proportions, and then to gradually erase a re-draw each part to make it look more like your subject. Then you render the values areas and textures. This method is kind of working from the outside in, like the tree I described above. However this approach involves a lot of erasing , and the more you erase the more damage you might do to your paper, and a lot of erasing limits what you can do in drawing on top of a colored background, and so on. Some people will literally erase a hole in their drawing paper.

Another approach is to draw from the inside out. Choose a sharp photo of a face where you can see the eyes clearly. If you look at the inside corners of the eyes examine the negative space in between them. If you print out your picture on plain paper you can put a dot there at the eye comers with a pen. Now if you look directly below those two dots you can put two more dots at the bottom sides of the nose by the nostrils. What those four dots picture is the four corners of a rectangle where it is a little longer than it is wide. The ratio is usually about 3 wide to 4 long. From there you can look at the proportions outward, put dots there and connect them up. The distance from the inside corners of the eyes to the outside corners of the eyes is similar to the distance between the two inside corners. Put dots at the beginning and end of the eyebrows and at the top of the peak. So put dots there. Put a dot at the bottom center of the nose. The distance to the mouth line from the bottom of the nose is about half of the length of the nose. The distance from the mouth line to the bottom of the chin is about the same as the length of the nose. Now look at the shape of the chin, the shape of the jaw line, the hair line, where the bottom and top of the ears come to compared to the rest of the face. You might notice that on a pretty, well proportioned face the distance from the chin to the bottom of the nose, from there to the eyebrows, and from the eyebrows to the hair line, is about the same, If the face is level in relation to you.

You can draw anything you want from any photo printed out on plain paper by the following method. Draw as large a square as you can on the photograph. Then connect the corners with an X . Use the center of the X to divide it up into four squares, and draw X's to connect their corners. When you have a number of squares you line up their centers and continue the pattern outside of the original square to cover the whole picture. You can grid it a little smaller in areas where you need more detail like the face and hands and grid it larger in areas where there is less detail. You can also put a dot on the most important points where you have to be precise, like the corners of the eyes and the edges of the irises. Then measure the dots from the nearest grid corner. The eyes are the single most important part of any portrait where they appear. Then draw the same grid pattern lightly, and I mean lightly, on the drawing paper to whatever size you need. It may help to label the the rows and columns with letters and numbers respectively to help keep it straight. Then just draw what you see from one triangle area to the other. You need to carefully erase the grid before you get too far . Then when you get the basics drawn why not go back to your reference picture and draw contour lines around the different value areas on the face, in the hair, and so forth. Then work on putting in the value areas in your picture with pencils with h leads (hard) for light areas, and b leads (soft) for dark areas. The ebony pencil is best for the darkest areas. You can use paper stomps, tissues, artist's chamois, and your fingers to smooth out the transition areas or little value patches. Be sure and wash your hands often with a degreaser like Dawn to keep oil of the paper. Use a soft white eraser to make little changes, and you can use ink too if you want on black areas, but be careful not to do it in large areas or the difference will be obvious.

I use mechanical pencils to start with and then add more pencils later. The most common beginner mistake is to try and draw the hair as individual strands instead of looking for patterns and texture. Also draw everything lightly and then darken it later, you don't want your lines to show in your final drawing. Here is a drawing I did of Alyson Michalka:

And here is the best explanation on the net on how to draw hair:

Any tips/secrets or advice for a weekend in Vegas?

A few buddies and I are going to Vegas in July... Any tips or ideas of how we can take advantage of what Vegas has to offer over the 2 days we are there? Any ways to get the hook up with cheap stuff or freebies?Any tips/secrets or advice for a weekend in Vegas?
90 percent of tourists who come here don't have anything more planned than their hotel rooms, so do some research and make arrangements ahead of time.

If you can, make your trip midweek instead of the weekend. The nightclubs and shows are more eager to get customers then and you'll find much better deals (and your rooms will be way cheaper, too).

Don't count on getting comps or other favors. Be polite and patient to the staff you meet and tip well, and try and chat them up for advice. You never know; the bartender who gets you your beer at 2 p.m. might be best friends with the guy who works the door at the hottest club in town. Make a good impression and you might get on the guest list.

For nightclubs, failing that advice, see if you can befriend some girls while waiting in line. Girls are let in before guys and if you're nice, they might let you tag along. When inside, buy them a round as thanks.Any tips/secrets or advice for a weekend in Vegas?
http://cheapvegasclubs.com/ can get you a few good shows for 70% off and into any of the nightclubs realllyyy cheap. I use them all the time. If your interested in strip clubs they also have a $5 pass that gets you free limo service, entry into 12 clubs and free drinks.
Here are a few Vegas money saving tips. You will be amazed how much you can save if you know what you are doing.

Has anyone any tips or advice on scrapbook making?

I keep thinking of compiling a scrapbook......I thought I would start this year. A complete beginner........how do I start?? Is there a special book? ( all sorts of daft questions when you do not know anything about a subject........ )Has anyone any tips or advice on scrapbook making?
All the above answers are good. In addition check out the crafts/hobbies section in your local library. They will almost certainly have some books on scrapbooking/memory albums. This will cost you nothing whereas the monthly magazines or buying books can be quite expensive.

Try asking round all your friends, workmates and family. This hobby is so popular now that it is likely someone you know is already doing it and will be able to give you some help. Many scrapbookers form groups as this helps with advice, swapping items and sharing the more expensive equipment as well as socialising.

Sign up for an evening class or one day workshop. A course can be expensive but usually quite a lot of material and use of equipment is included in the fee and it is a good way to learn different techniques and steal other student's ideas.

Go to a show such as one of the Hobbycraft fairs held all over the country or to one of the Thorpe Park shows.

Do go for it. Scrapbooking is one of the most enjoyable hobbies. I love trying to track down just the right embellishments to enhance my photos. The finished album(s) are far superior to traditional photo albums and people will not be bored when you bring them out to show even if they are not interested in the subjects of your photos. Finally you have produced a heritage piece that will be treasured down the generations in your family.

I bought a kit from qvcuk.com which had a smaller size scrapbook (8'; x 8';) and loads of co-ordinating papers and embellishments. It cost approx. 拢20 inc. postage. It was a better size to start with, not too daunting and i made a lovely book for my parents 40th anniversary. They loved it and i have to say for my 1st attempt i was pretty pleased myself. Good luck with your new hobby, you'll love it once you get started.
when i first done scrapbooking i bought a kit it was a small album 6x6 for 拢7.00 but i didnt wanted anything too big, so i done a album all about my dog andy, and i bought alot of bits and bobs before hand, and i loved it, the best idea would be to buy a kit if you can, or have a look on ebay as they have loads of craft items for cheap, and sign up with a scapbooking group on yahoo or hotmail, and they can help answer any of those questions, and maybe give you some tips, i am with a few craft groups on yahoo, and now i am a owner with 4 yahoo groups myself.
I got my first set from QVC and it was fantastic value, There are several good magazines out to. My favourite is Scrapbook Inspirations, The sell it in WH Smiths, It has loads of good ideas to get you started. Beware though IT IS ADDICTIVE and quited expensive hobby!!!
i went to a class that was FREE at the craft shop in our town . they helped me out a lot , now I'm crazy about it . try a craft shop , if not there are magazines that will help you . good luck on you scraping . once you start you won't be able to stop !
Ok. Start by buying a photo storage box. Organize your pictures by catergory. Then go to a craft store and find acid free lignen free paper the size of your scrapbook. (12x12, 8x8) Then pick up any stickers that you see and like. You can buy scrapbooking books with layouts or take a class for ideas. You can fit about one picture a page in a 8x8 scrapbook and about 4 on a 12x12 scrapbook. Be sure to always buy acid free and lignen free products. If you don't over time your pictures and pages will get damaged. Some scrapbooking esentials are:

Paper

Scrapbook

Adhesive double stick photo squares

stickers

a straight cutter

You can buy these at any craft store. I like Archivers, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. Archivers has some of the best classes.

To start make sure to lay out your photos on the page with a colorful background paper behind it. It looks good to mat a picture by cutting out a rectangle a little bit bigger than the picture. Also remember to JOURNAL! Journaling is writing about the pictures and memories. You would hate to spend all of the time on the books and in years not knowing what the pictures are of. I would suggest attending a free class at an Archivers near you or look at layouts on a website.

  • Will I be Pregnant? Is thee any problem with me Plz everyone respond to my question with any advice or tips?

Hi am ttc from 3 months...I went to my doctor for planning pregnancy...She did some test by sending radiations to open the tubes...Me and My mother were worrying what the problem is...Doctor said that now the tubes are open....Is this common with everyone....will I be pregnant......It will be very kind of you if u help us...Will I be Pregnant? Is thee any problem with me Plz everyone respond to my question with any advice or tips?
    Hi!

If your tubes are open, this means that the egg can travel down during ovulation and be fertilised.

    This is great news.

I am currently 9 1/2 weeks pregnant and only have one tube remaining due to a previous ectopic pregnancy. To have 2 tubes would be a blessing for me!

Was the test to check if the tubes were open, or to reopen closed tubes?

Either way, if they are open, they are open, and you should be able to get pregnant.

Good luck! Will I be Pregnant? Is thee any problem with me Plz everyone respond to my question with any advice or tips?
So did you have closed or blocked tubes? I have never heard of radiation to fix that i have heard of them injecting a dye to see if they are blocked and somtimes that alone opens the tube up. Um i'd say 3 month is'nt that lond to be trying i have been trying for 8 months and the dr says that if you h been trying for over 6 month then you have something wrong i myself have PCOS. I hope you are fixed dear and you get your BFP soon Good luck and babydust!1!!!!!
Hello. I have heard that by opening up the tubes alittle does help. I would not worry about this too much. Now you need to do your part. Make sure you are taking good care of yourself and have lots of sex. THe rule of thumb that alot of people have told me is to try to BD every other day. Since we never really know when ovulation is going to happen, it's better safe then sorry.

There are tons of ways to watch and track ovulation. And I'm sure that you are aware of them.

Like I said, have lots of sex. Sperm can live for up to 72 hours (3 days) and an egg can usually last up to 24 hours. SO by always having some little swimmers there will better your chances.

    Best of luck!!!!

    * Without depressing you....I want to share my story. My husband and I both have seen the doctor and we both are perfectly fine in the baby making department. We are now going on 11 months of TTC. I have no idea what is taking us so long. With our daughter it happened the very first month. TTC is not easy and it's impossible to explain how our bodies work. Just hang in there and it will happen.
This is my 3rd month TTC too and my doctor also clear my tubes, I am not sure how fast this can make us pregnant but I know it will help.

Good luck !!!On my way to getting gastric bypass surgery (bariatric) any tips or advice from survivors?
No advice...just wish you luck! That is a huge decision to make, totally life changing. wish you all the best.
Ask the doctor how many patients he/she has lost as result of complications from this surgery. I think you'll be amazed at the number of ';non-survivors';.

I just looked this topic up on Yahoo and I am 100 lbs overweight, am diabetic and had a mild heart attack 1 month ago and I WILL NEVER do this. I'd rather go to my grave early and enjoy life now than to be miserable for the rest of my life with the surger. Remember, you are going to be dead for a long time.
ok that is phrased in a weird way--advice from survivors??
Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy/stomach stapling /lapband (all types of bariatric surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your obesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her surgery for gastric bypass in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

    http://www.forerunnershealthcare.com
Do what they tell you to do and you will be fine. You will be amazed by how small your stomache will be and you will only be able to eat tiny bites.

Good Luck and I will pray for you.

What is the Go San Diego card? And can you give me some tips, and advice about vacationing in San Diego?

Traveling to San Diego in a little over a week with husband and kids ranging from 4-12, would love some advice about the Go San Diego card and some insight about things to do and places to eat...keeping in mind that this is a family vacation. Thanks in advance! What is the Go San Diego card? And can you give me some tips, and advice about vacationing in San Diego?
I too have enver heard of this so I went to look it up. You know, to me,,it looks pricey and when you look at whaat it offers, I don't see the advantage. Sure, you might save 10.00 on major attractions, but the card itself is about 50 per day and you would spend more than that in gas just to get everywhere it offers discounts to take advantage of it and you couldnt in one day and actually enjoy yourself.

There is much to do in san diego, Seaport Village, Coronado Beach, Old Town, Balboa Park all of which costs next to nothing to spend the day You absolutely cannot visit and pass up the Zoo. I live here and it is the one place I never allow company to miss seeing. There is a water park in Chula Vista. Legoland up north in Oceanside and Sea World. the Wild Animal Park (its a bit of a drive to get to) but they are not cheap..If I am not mistaken you can guess on spending about fifty dollars a person or slightly more for those attractions but they do take up an entire day so it is all in how you look at it.

I forgot to mention Belmont Park with the roller coaster in Mission Beach. Another great way to spend a dayl

good luck and have fun.. it's a great city and county. Not to many places where you can go from the beach to the mountains and the desert within an hours drive.

Well the Go San Diego card is a card that basically you pay for and it gets you into a bunch of different great family places! It's way cheaper to do it that way because a lot of the places out here can be expensive! I highly recommend you go ahead and purchase that instead of paying way more at the parks themselves. And try to hit every place you can because everything it has to offer is well worth going to. If you want to see a bunch of different family fun things to do out here you can check out my San Diego blog I write about a lot of great places and most of what I write about is family oriented since I have a daughter and anywhere we go she's always with us! Check it out and I really hope that helps!

I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO! I've never heard of the ';Go San Diego card,'; but I can totally give suggestions of places to visit.

They don't call it ';The World Famous San Diego Zoo'; for nothing.

    Sea World

Balboa park -- there are tons of museums, exhibits, etc.

Belmont Park -- It's sort of a small amusement park by the beach

Sea Port Village -- It's right by the ocean and has tons of fun little shops and restaurants

    Have a great time!

PS: The link below has tons of suggestions as well!

I need to replace the liner in my above ground pool. It is 15' round X 52'; deep. Any tips, advice, pointers?

I am probably going to attempt this in the spring.I need to replace the liner in my above ground pool. It is 15' round X 52'; deep. Any tips, advice, pointers?
After removing the old liner, put the top rails back on to strengthen the whole thing. Put in the new liner and pull it out over the top rails all around on the outside of pool so it is DOWN TO THE GROUND. Start adding water, you can use clothes pins on the liner and top rail to keep it tight. As the bottom fills from the center, go around and loosten the liner at the clothes pins to give a little slack. Keep doing this to keep the liner pulled tight until the bottom fills about 1 ft deep. You do it this way to tighten the liner for a smooth bottom. It also insures that you don't run out of liner. After you have 1-2 ft water in the pool, you can go around and remove the top rails and apply the retainers and put top rails back on. Fill all the way and you're done.

Can somebody advice some good tips or exercise to make my female part as same as it was on first night?

Please advice some good tips and exercise to make female part strong ang as same as it was on first intercourse. Some how I loose the strength of it? Pls advice it is affecting my personla life a lot?Can somebody advice some good tips or exercise to make my female part as same as it was on first night?
You need to do Kegel exercises. Here are some from my postpartum book from the hospital...but like the other person commented it will never go back to before..but this may help some.

Kegel exercises tighten the muscles in that whole area down there. If you have trouble passing urine unexpectedly this will help too.

    1 Empty your bladder

2 Pull in your muscles as if you are stopping yourself from urinating.

    3. Pull in your muscles as if you are stopping yourself from having a bowel movement.

4 Squeeze and hold all muscles as you count to five. DO NOT hold your breath and DO NOT tighten your buttocks.

    5. It may be easiest to do these when you are lying down with you lower legs raised. Practice frequently, everyday (up to 50 times a day) for the rest of your life. No one will know when you are doing Kegel exercises, so you can do them anywhere, anytime, anyplace, for example, while waiting for the bus , standing in line at the grocery store, or while brushing your teeth.

Hope this helps! Can somebody advice some good tips or exercise to make my female part as same as it was on first night?
    Pelvic floor exercises ;-)
History may repeat itself but you can't put the clock back,Surgery is one way out.Pelvic exercises have helped many

with remarkable restoration.Acceptance is one sure way to improve your personal life.Just think, what about millions of other people of your age and life situation? they couldn't be leading a lesser life? So, accept, imagine and visualize, improvise and find newer ways and use them with faith and optimism.Things WILL improve. We have just ONE life.LIVE it and ENJOY it.
It wont ever be that stong again. Once you stretch the tissue it doesnt go back. Its not going to go back. And it shouldnt affect your personal life.
    Kegel exercises.

These are the muscles you use to stop the flow if you need to whilst having a pee.

Practise tropping the flow when you are on the toilet, until you can identify and clench the muscles when not peeing.

Then clench the muscles 20-50 times, 10 times a day. You can do this anywhere, standing at bus stop, at your desk, wherever. (Dont do it in water as you can suck water in).

Within 3 weeks the muscles will have strengthened and you will have become much tighter.

    PS Maya, are you pinay?
    haha oh wow..
kay so you know how like if you are peeing and you make it stop? like that. you just tighten and relax that muscle.

Tips, advice, reasurance, and a brief summary for my first gynocologist visit?

    first time going,

    getting birthcontrol of somesort,

    gardasil shot?

shall i go to work afterwards?

    what should i do/expect

please be clean thank you much : )Tips, advice, reasurance, and a brief summary for my first gynocologist visit?
You will have a few examinations done, which may include the following:

A pelvic exam is a way for your gynaecologist to examine your female organs and check for any gynaecological problems.

You may be worried about your first pelvic exam. It's very normal to be anxious about something when you don't know what to expect. Hopefully after reading this, you will be reassured that it is simple, isn't painful and the actual pelvic exam takes only about 5 minutes. It is also normal to feel embarrassed or uneasy about your first exam, I still feel embarrassed with mine and I've had may many pelvic examinations over the past 10 years due to female related problems I'm experiencing.

However, if you know what to expect, it may help you relax. I'm sure your gyno understands how you feel and will be sensitive and gentle, and answer any questions you may have.

There are other important reasons to have a pelvic exam. These may include:

    - Unexplained pain in your lower belly or around the pelvic area, where your vagina is;

    - Vaginal discharge or wetness on your underwear that causes itching, burning or smells bad;

    - No menstrual periods by age 15 or 16;

    - Vaginal bleeding that lasts more than 10 days;

    - Missed periods; especially if you are having sex;

    - Menstrual cramps so bad that you miss school or work.

During your first check up your gyno will ask you questions about:

    - Your general health, allergies and medications you are taking;

    - Your menstrual period, such as how old you were when you first got it, how long it lasts, how often it comes, how much you bleed , the first day that your last period started, if you have cramps; and at what age your breasts started to develop.

    - Whether you have ever had sex or have been sexually abused.

    - If you have vaginal itchiness or an unusual discharge or odor from your vagina.

If you find it comforting your partner, a friend or if you are still young, your Mum can go with you for support, bear in mind that they don't have to be present in the room when you are having the pelvic examination done. After you have given your medical history, been weighed and had your blood pressure checked, you will be asked to put on a gown. You will need to remove your clothes including your underwear and bra. A breast exam is often done as a routine part of this check-up.

Your gyno will explain the steps to the exam and ask you to lie down on the exam table. You will be given a sheet to put over your stomach and legs. You will then be asked to move down to the end of the table and place your feet in stirrups (these are holders for your feet). With your knees bent, you will be asked to let your knees fall to each side allowing your legs to spread apart. This is usually the part when most women feel embarrassed. This feeling is normal too. Just remember that although this is your first exam, this is routine for your gyno and their only concern is for your health.

There are 3 parts to this exam. Sometimes not all parts of the pelvic exam are necessary. Ask your gyno which part or parts will be done for your examination.

Your gyno will first look at the area outside of your vagina, (clitoris, labia, vaginal opening, and rectum).

Now some information about the papsmear. The speculum is an instrument made of metal or plastic. Your gyno will place the speculum into your vagina. After it is inserted, it will be gently opened so that your gyno can see your vagina and your cervix (the opening to your uterus).

After checking your vagina and cervix, your gyno may take a thin plastic stick and a special tiny brush or a small ';broom'; and gently wipe away some of the cells from your cervix. This is a pap smear, which detects early changes of the cervix before they become cancer. Most girls have normal pap smears.

If you are having vaginal discharge, your gyno will take another sample to check for a possible yeast infection and other causes of discharge. If you are having sex, your gyno will take another sample from the cervix to check for sexually transmitted diseases. When all of these samples have been taken, your doctor will close the speculum and gently take it out.

When the exam is over, your gyno will answer any questions you have and tell you when to make your next appointment. He/she will also talk to you about any medications you may need and tell you when and how you will get the results of the exam.

I hope this information helps you out. Best of luck and remember to try to relax. If at any time during your examination, you feel uncomfortable or anything causes pain, you have the right to stop your gyno and let him/her know.

Good luck. :)Tips, advice, reasurance, and a brief summary for my first gynocologist visit?
FYI: remind the doc. to warm up the Speculum, if it is a medal one... :)

    It will help...
Annual exams are never fun. The pap smear is slightly momentarily uncomfortable, but it is nothing that should keep you from going to work.

You will be taken to an exam room, remove your clothes, put on a gown and given a sheet to cover yourself. You will explain what you are there for and then the doctor and nurse will come in and the doctor will do a breast exam to make sure there are no lumps and then you will lie back on the table and they will do your pap smear. After everything is checked, you will probably get your shot and be able to discuss birth control options.

That's it. It's really no big deal. You have nothing to worry about.
I personally suggest birth control pills alesse or yasmin are great in my opinion.

I haven't gotten the Gardasil shot and I doubt I will. There hasn't been enough research in my opinion.

If you're getting a pap test, and the gardasil shot you'll probably want to go home for the rest of the day because I've been told it makes you feel ill for a few hours.

The gyno is going to ask you extremely personal questions.

    when you started your period.

when you had your last period

are you sexually active? for how many years

    do you have any std

have you had any vagina pains or issues

    is our cycle regular

    stuff like that.

just be honest and ask questions. before you go write up a list of questions so you don't forget anything or write up a list up things that concern you. I do this since when you get there sometimes your nerves get to you and you forget stuff.

just breathe, relax and be honest with the gyno!

Does anyone have any money saving tips/advice for a single working mother??

I am looking for any tips/advice to help me save money around the house. Any ideas will help. Any ideas to reuse everyday items that may otherwise be thrown away?? Any ideas to save money on groceries, utilities, car repair?? Thank you, your help is gretly appreciated!!Does anyone have any money saving tips/advice for a single working mother??
Something I would like to suggest would be maybe to go through your CD collection (if you have one) and sell the ones you don't listen to anymore or don't like anymore.

I do this, and anything I earn from selling my CDs goes into my online savings account. I use ING because they have really good interest rates.

Other than that, I can suggest that when you shop for groceries that you don't necessarily need to buy name brand items.Does anyone have any money saving tips/advice for a single working mother??
    http://www.stretcher.com/index.cfm
You are going to have to start investing on some scale. For this You have to save up a $1000 and open up a fund. A Financial Advisor is God. And one thousand will give you enough to wager depending on the climate. Owning and a maintaining a vehicle is effortless so long as you upkeep and check the fluids learn to do it yourself so you can pour more in as necessary. Look at cruise vacation packages. Always talk to your kids more than necessary.
well i use to be really bad at saving. now i am getting better. i use coupons when i go shopping. i only ride my gas when i have to. and i buy off name brand items in the house. we do no eat out unless it is special reasons. car repair you cna't be cheap on that.
Yeah, give the father more parenting time and you could earn extra income working more hours p/t outside of the home. If you are employed full-time then you could apply for a second p/t job. Less daycare costs, or less food expenses for the children and less expenses in child care all the way around. If the father works many hours I am sure that he would be glad to pay for daycare that he chose to put them in if he was the custodial parent. A person would really be surprised how much money one could save when the Axe grinding stops. But if the biological father is deceased, then you would be surprised at how willing men are to subsidize a single mother in exchange for dates to a nice restaurant. Or even finding a future b/f to hook up with. The sky's the limit!
    Never spend change!

Put all your change in a big jug. Preferably in a jug that has an opening of about 1 and 1/2 inches. That way you can put money in but it is a little harder to take it out.

You well be amazed at how fast you accumulate a few hundred dollars.

If your employer has direct deposit, use it. Send 10% of your salary to a separate account at a bank you don't normally use. Do not set up a debit card for this account. You want to make it a little difficult to get at.

Read The Automatic Millionaire, it well be the best $11 you ever spend.

Use coupons, shops sales, buy the store brand at the grocery store. Get rid of your land line if you also have a cell phone. You only need one. Do you really need cable TV?

Turn the thermostat down a degree or two. I have read that every degree will save you about 3% on the heating bill.

Never pay full price. If you look in the right places (Internet, local news paper ecsetera) you can find coupons for anything. I can always find a coupon for $10 off an oil change if I don't mind not always using the same store.

I also have an emergancy fund with ING Direct, (online savings account). Some of the online accounts are offering a little over 5%.

Read, read, read. Educate your self, there are a ton of persinal finance books out there. Get them in paper back or rent from the library for free. Don't listen to the people talking about investing and finance advisers. No one well look after your money like you well and personal finance advisors are a dime a dozon and need no schooling or exsperiance to call them selves advisors.

    I hope this helps
Here's a list of items I wrote up on my blog. Some may help.

Has anyone stayed at the vallarta Palace in Nuevo Vallarta mex...any tips, suggestions, advice welcomed thanks?

I've heard there is even a dress code at some of there restaurants and a problem with children left unattended..Has anyone stayed at the vallarta Palace in Nuevo Vallarta mex...any tips, suggestions, advice welcomed thanks?
You do ........ long pant in some of the restaurants for dinner.....mostly dress casual......unattended children is not tolerated and shouldn't be.....Vallarta Palace is not a day care and other guests would consider you children a pain in the @ss....nothing to do in Nuevo Vallarta.......long cab ride into town.....the place is spectacular.........been there 3 times....Has anyone stayed at the vallarta Palace in Nuevo Vallarta mex...any tips, suggestions, advice welcomed thanks?
    Hi

The Palace Hotels are great hotels and well recommended. Luxury rooms, big areas. I am planning my vacations and searched this hotel in Nuevo Vallarta.

I found a great promo in a web page including dolphin swim programs in the rate. check this link and see this promo, probably this will help you to decide http://www.cancuntravel.com

I am still thinking where to go, but this promo really got my attention.
I stayed at the Vallarta Palace in March of 2008. I am from a small town and was really looking forward to ';dressing up'; when I got there. I was amazed at how casual people dressed. The dresses that I brought to wear at night I felt out of place in. I ended up wearing my day sundresses out to dinner in the restaurants. Probably no shorts out to dinner (although some people did wear them) but you do not need anything formal I never saw one man even wearing a sport coat.

I'm not sure about children I didn't have any with me.

The circus show was worth seeing. The Japanese restaurant was My favorite. If you are going off property the Vallarta Adventures Bay of Banderas sailing trip was a blast.
There was one restaurant that you need long pant. I had none had to buy some at a store. The site was nice but big.

  • Can you give me some tips, advice, or etc. on this?

I play the cello and trombone for 5 years total.....sometimes i want to play outside and let everyone hear it. What if you came by my house and saw me playing with a recording on the computer in the afternoon? Would you think its wrong or dumb to do? What kind of reaction would you give me and what could i do so i could possilably play outdoors? Can you give me some tips, advice, or etc. on this?
If you're playing a recording (say the orchestra part for a cello concerto) it'd make it more exciting.

Even if it's a string quartet (with you as Cello) or a cello sonata (w/ piano). It'd be good.

Just make sure you can play with the recording perfectly. I'd look at you weird if you missed a lot of rhythmic areas.

Tips on playing outside? I do this with my piano sometimes.

I take my piano, plug it in outside (it's electric one, not my upright!)

    and I play.

Take your cello. Sit outside, and play. Simple. Can you give me some tips, advice, or etc. on this?
I think it would be delightful. I love that kind of thing!

But there are always sticks in the mud who would call that kind of thing a nuissance or a disturbance of the peace. You should check and make sure your city doesn't have any ordinances that would make such a beautiful act illegal.
As long as you don't sound dreadful, I'd love to hear you. You might even have people flock around your house to listen to free music. You might even make some money, you never know...

    Erunno is exactly correct...

    Take your cell. Sit. Play.

    Easy as 1,2,3...

Business ideas? (advice and tips also welcome)?

I'm looking into maybe starting a business in the near future...

I'm planning on making a business that supplies systems (web sites, networks etc) to small organisations such as estate agents etc and maintains it for them for a fee.

I've only done a small amount of research and seems like a good idea, however I would be grateful if anyone with any knowledge or experience in this field could give any tips/ advice.

As I said, i'm still in the planning stages and wouldnt mind any suggestions to change or add to my ideas of services offered.

Any tips on how to go about this would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.Business ideas? (advice and tips also welcome)?
You've picked an area where there's a lot of information online. Here's some other suggestions.

If you've done this type of work for anyone -- ask for letters of recommendations, and referrals.

If this is going to be your SOLE source of income, do you have funds you can live off for awhile? It may take you a year or two to get established.

You might want to keep your day job and do this on a part time basis until you line up a few accounts to cover your minimum costs.

Speak to people you know in the types of businesses you think you can help.

    Ask them

what they are looking for in this type of service.

what kind of fees they'd be willing to pay.

what kind of expertise they'd want.

If they have an existing arrangement -- ask them what that person does well and things they wish was offered or done differently.

Research your competition. (be sure to include internet service providers, the cable company, the phone company). What advantages can you offer? Can you offer what they do for the same price or less?

Research your market. Are there 'niche' markets not currently being served?Business ideas? (advice and tips also welcome)?

Is there any tips or advice on wining the game monopoly?

me and my boyfriend always play monopoly the original version, and for some reason he always seams to win :( . the only way i win is if i collect all the red's and apply houses! can any one help, i really wanna kick his *** it at 4 once! xxIs there any tips or advice on wining the game monopoly?
The best properties to have is all three yellow as they are not very expensive to build on and get you very good money when anyone lands on them...

Good luck...because no matter what strategy you use...you will still need luck with the dice to win the game!Is there any tips or advice on wining the game monopoly?
Cheat! Give him loads of lager and when he has to go to the loo take the money from the bank. That's what my brother used to do to me and I've only just worked it out!!!!
Yes cheat when hes not looking lol
Offer to be the banker - you can then help yourself to extra 拢拢拢s when he isn't looking! (go past go collect 拢400 etc!!!)

Distract him whenever you land on one of his properties and hope he doesn't notice - encourage him to throw the dice and then you don't have to pay!

When you roll the dice, cheat by moving your piece one or two places more (or less) than you should - i.e to avoid his sites (esp if he has houses/hotels!) or to enable you to take advantage of landing on a site you need to buy etc.

Basically cheat ... but don't get caught LOL!!!
    What Ho Kirsty.

Well don't stand with too much cash. and little property.

There again, don't sit with worthless crud streets.

I go for the green, red %26amp; blue fellows., stick property on, as funds afford, and often win.

Allow enough for rent %26amp; fines, and all is well.

    All the best with it.

    Bob.
cheat. when the banker isnt looking, take some money, property. also, nick other peoples houses with out them noticing!
    cheat
    Just cheat like everyone else
i very rarely lose a game of monopoly - buy as many properties as you can afford but only buy one of each colour except for one of the cheap streets. then you need to be patient and wait for the people you are playing with to make you a good offer. if they don't make you a really good offer just wait after several hours they will die of boredom and you win by default - good luck and prepare to lose your friends
Buy all the railroads %26amp; electricity places if you can. Never turn them down. Check on his every move to see if he landed on a property you own. Once his turn is over, you can't make him pay you!
I usually always win,and the way I do it is to buy all the Pinks, and as many of the orange %26amp; greens as possible, then build as many hotels %26amp; houses as quickly as possible. Also try to gain control of the Utility companies!! But the Pinks are the key (or whatever colours you have on your board after Jail-they are the key given that you can't roll more than a 12 on the dice!!The odds of him landing there from Go or anywhere on that 1st side are high!!).
My advice would be to aim to get the Old Kent Road and Angel Islington. They may not gain much but they are VERY cheap to build on. This is how I win and it works quite a lot of the time. I would also advise getting the oranges by the free parking space. MONEY MONEY MONEY! Alternatively, offer to be the banker and take some cash! Have fun!
    Hi,

i wouldnt cheat, even though it is properly tempting...

my plan of action as someone else mentioned is getting the stations, the waterworks and electricity cards. then if you can make sure you get a whole row, like the reds and yellows or the pinks and oranges.. cos a whole strip will always do more damage once it has house or hotels, cos they are bound to land on one of them...

at the end of the day though, it is the playing not the winning that matters ;o) and having fun and spending time with your boyfriend...
I like getting the orange and purple properties. I try to take over the row between jail and free parking. There are many cards and events that take you either to go, jail, or railroads, so I feel that make it's a costly danger zone for your opponents and nice safe zone for you.

I do enjoy getting the 2 cheap properties by Go. Just because it's fun to nickel and dime your opponents with the cheap property :)
Deaths corner try and get that its Mayfair %26amp; Park lane Old kent road %26amp; Whitechaple they dread it coming round to that cause you got the taxes aswell once you get hotels on there you should be laughing breaks um down and fun hey hey good luck
try to land on the blue and put houses on both when owned that makes alot of money

Spend a lot of time with him when he first comes. keep him away from the rottweiler for a few days, maybe keep one inside or locked in a fence or something like that. then every now and again bring the dogs together (with something blocking them from hurting one another, like the fence) and hopefully that might work after a few days or weeks. don't rush it. eventually they will like one another. but before then, don't leave them together without something barring them from one another. it's kind of different, but that's what i did with my birds and now they're best friends (and they're two males). so thy that and see if it works.
You don't say how old your Rottweiler is. Rottweilers are usually very good with puppies.

If there is less than 5 years between these dogs you would be better with a male and female mix than two dogs of the same gender who are close in age.

There is less chance of any fighting happening between a male and female.
This is good for safety, but maintenance is heavy. if you need, you are eligable to maintain then keep.

Going on our 1st cruise in Nov, any tips/advice on what to expect ?

It all depends on the Cruise Line and Ship.

    All offer something different.

Cruising is the only holiday for me!Going on our 1st cruise in Nov, any tips/advice on what to expect ?
If you have a flight, fly the day before. That way flight delays will not effect your cruise. Bring a change of clothes in your carry-on. Don't let one thing that may go wrong let it ruin your cruise. I have no idea why someone here did not like Princess cruises because I can't praise them enough. I suspect because of his flight delay(not the cruise ship problem) he decided the rest of the cruise would be terrible. Shore excursion booked through the cruise company are expensive, but they are the best tours and they guarantee you get back to the ship on time. Watch how much alcohol you drink as this can really push up your bill big time, Remember you are on vacation the minute you board the ship, so enjoy everything the ship has to offer. One last tip is diet before your cruise as you will gain weight and if you can use the stairs as much as possible so you don't gain too much.Going on our 1st cruise in Nov, any tips/advice on what to expect ?
Take time to do your own thing when onshore at each port of call. The organised excursions are usually ok, but can sometimes simply be an opportunity to sell you something.

Take advantage of any drinks packages offered once you are aboard as these can save you money. Go to to the welcome aboard meeting as the rep can give you lots of useful info. Read the daily newsletter too as this holds important local info.

    Enjoy the holiday.

I just went on my 2nd cruise Feb 08 to the Carribean. This time we went Princess and it was a trip from hell! Our flight that was booked thru Princess was delayed in S. Carolina and we almost did not make the ship. We finally boarded, with no luggage! It missed the connecting flight so we had to go to our first port of call (Jamaica) and the entire day in port in the same clothes we had. So my first suggestion is to pack your swim suit and at LEAST one change of clothes in your carry on along with whatever essentials you would need that can be taken on the plane with all the regulations since 9/11.

If you are a drinker, like my family, pack some alcohol. Trust me they do not check for stuff like that. Then get the soft drink card once you are onboard. I think it was like $23 and that was for all the soft drinks you want the entire trip. This way you get all the soft drinks and mixers for your packed alcohol.

Do check out the shows the have nightly, there are some funny and interesting ones. And mingle and chat with everyone, you'll be suprised how many people you will meet from all walks of life!!

Excursions are dependant person to person. If you want to see the island most excursions take majority of the day leaving you little time to sight see and shop on your own. Not sure where you are going but if Jamaica I DEFINATLY suggest climbing Dunns River Falls, it was awesome. But most excursions can be purchased once you depart the cruise ship for a fraction of the cost the cruise line offers them for and they are pretty much the same thing. If going to Cozumel and you are thinking about doing the Canopy tour, believe me skip it!!! It's not like other islands were you are on a cable above the rainforest. You go about 200 ft from one little hut to the other little hut about 20 ft in the air and that's it!

Once again if your drinkers and the island you port at has a Carlos and Charlies you GOTTA go. But do your shopping and sight seeing first cuz when you leave that place you will be toasted!!! I think we drank enuff to put most college parties to shame! And the place is a blast!!!

Beware of the sign and sail or whatever the cruise line you are going on uses. You just keep using it and using it and loose track of what you spend. Next your buying rounds for everyone! You use no cash on board, just your card which is linked to your credit card.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. Cruises are GREAT but from past experience I will never go on Princess again and will for sure return to Carnival!!!

    Have fun!!
sea sickness,no really it's fun lots to do,lots to eat.

depends where you are going but there will be different

places to visit, always make sure you allow plenty of time to get back aboard before sailing.

there are loads of facilities on cruise ships you can chill out

or be as active as you like.

enjoy wish i was going weathers dreadful here.
I've been on Princess cruises and am due to go in January on the Ruby. They are fantastic holidays and there is absolutely something for everybody to do. The excursions are well worth it but you can get a free shuttle bus to the town centres etc but have to make sure you're back to the ship on time or they will sail without you unlike their excursions, if they run late, they wait.

    fabulous holidays...enjoy
rooms are small sometime even the showers. you have a safe in your room, tv and cable. the water in room is not free. they add $10 per person per day for the tips which gets added on your bill at the end of trip you will see it. lots of fun things to do food choices are so easy to pick from even if you have medical problems ( salt or sugar in take : if you don't like something no problem ask for something else. they take lots of pictures you don't have to pay for all of them just ones you want. the boat rocks sometimes. the staff is very help ful
I went Ion my first cruise last March. I wasn't sure I'd like it but had a great time. If you'd like to read all of the details and see photos from my cruise go to:

For more general information and tips about cruises, this is a great website:

    http://vgsims.traverustravel.com/whycrui鈥?/a>

If you see a Barge along side your ship, please don't toss things down on the tankerman below unless it is your top. Security then gets involved and everything goes down hill from there and I hate dealing with ship security. Other than that Just Relax.
    expect:

    rough seas

    children puking

    substandard food

    bad service

    saltwater

    over priced soft drinks

    annoying tourists

    foreigners

    long lines

    small and cramped cabins

    norwalk virus

    credit card debt

Expect a great vacation. Take advantage of the shore excursions.
If you are going on any ship with a name that ends in ANIC do not ask for ice in your drinks

Can anyone give me tips advice old wives tales anything on TTC??

Any and every advice is appreciated. (Im getting a little tired of waiting lol)Can anyone give me tips advice old wives tales anything on TTC??
Well firstly I would say forget the old wives' tales because that's exactly what they are!

Basically you need to get a good understanding of your cycle and your body, so you know when you are ovulating to make sure you have sex on these days.

Other than that, make sure you have a healthy diet, and are taking folate.

If it is taking some time to fall pregnant, limit alcohol - this can be a huge factor in some men as far as low sperm count is concerned.

If nothing has happened after a year, then see a doctor. Can anyone give me tips advice old wives tales anything on TTC??
There are lots of ways to see if you are ovulating, One way is track your cervical mucus. A few days before you ovulate it will become clear and stretchy similar to a raw egg white. Also you can track her basal body temp when she is gonna ovulate it will get a little higher. Also you should have her husbands sperm count checked. And also after you has sex you should lay on her back with a pillow under her hips for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the sperm to pool against her cervix.
if you eat baked yams or sweet potatoes they help. they give off a chemical when cooked that mimics that same chemicals that causes ovulation and implantation.
Well, have sex With the man on top, or doggy style.

They also say that if you put your legs up against the wall after sex the gravity helps the sperm get closer to your egg.

Try tracking your ovulation. Are your periods normal? if not, you may want to speak to your doctor about a perscription that would help you be more fertile and get pregnant faster - it's normally for people who have been trying for a year or more.

    good luck, baby dust!

  • I just bought a 9 wk old puggle... tips/advice?

Im a new dog owner and know that potty training and kennel training is alot of work. What exactly is kennel training? Is that just getting them used to being in their kennel when youre gone? What are some tips you have for housebreaking a new puppy? Any advice, tips would be great thanks!! And i dont care that puggles are a breed between beagles/pugs I dont want any mean comments from people who insist these are just mutts and shouldnt be bred! Just nice people who have good advice for a new puppy owner! Thanks again!I just bought a 9 wk old puggle... tips/advice?
    Congrats!!!

I just got 9 week mini poodle a few days back!

Biggest thing is a schedule, Daisy Mae eats at the same time every day, and is crated when we aren't home and at night.

I have noticed that food and water goes in.. within 10-15 minutes something has to come out.

I have introduced the brush to her as well, start small... a few moments here and there... but be consistent and frequent.

Socialize as much as possible without risking illness, other dogs that have been vaccinated, small children (with a watchful eye), and car rides.

Most of all patience... Be prepared for the middle of the night pee breaks... and accidents in the house too...

Good luck with your new baby!!I just bought a 9 wk old puggle... tips/advice?
    Your most welcome!!!

BTW... what did you name him?

a good tip for housebreaking.... is never rubb our puppies nose in its mess that made. That is just plain wrong! A good tip that worked for potty training my dogs was i went out and bought pad/little mats. If they poop put they poop on its pad then move them pad closer and closer to the door each day. You may need a doggie door so your dog doesnt have to hold it in. I hope Those tips helped you and good luck!
congrats on your new puppy, my friend has one and they are absolutely adorable. kennel training is training them to go to a kennel for like, time out, and teaching them not to poddy in their kennel, kennel training them is great because it allows them to have there own space to go to for like when you have company over or some thing, and for when your not home, it's a guaranteed way to keep him from chewing on every thing, or peeing everywhere, if you search on yahoo for, ';how to crate train'; it will give you great tips and, the best treats to use while your training him are liver treats just don't use them for anything else, another lil' piece of advice, train him while he's young and be very persistent, and keep the commands down to one or two words ( up, down, roll, sit, stay, lay down, come, etc.), oh yeah and good luck!
Puggles are great dogs and while they are not the brightest crayon in the box the dog make great family dogs. The easiest way to potty train a dog is to bring it outside when it starts to circle. when it goes potty give it lots of praise but don't scold it if ti goes potty inside dogs learn from repetition and situation so just repeat this process a doggy door helps and crate training is just getting a dog used to its crate
You should never buy anything you don't no nothing about. As Molly Hatchet says, ';Your flirtin with disaster';.
to potty train: take your puppy out every 2 hours or so to get him/her used to going to the bathroom outside. By doing this, your puppy will know that they shouldn't go inside unless you want them to. If they make an accident, don't clean it when they're around. If you do that then they think it was a good thing. But first, take your puppy to the accident, and tell them firmly that they did a bad thing. This will reduce the number of accidents that he/she makes in your home.

kennel: When your puppy is in their crate, don't take them out if they start to cry. If you do, then they'll learn to cry everytime you put them in and won't get trained. don't keep your puppy in the crate for too long though.
First off, enroll your dog in puppy classes. These are going to be the most helpful for you over the next few months. For potty training, keep it consistent. Take the dog out every hour, take the dog out the same way every time and to the same part of the yard. For kennel training, I would suggest that you go to PetsMart and get their video on crate training. It's one of the best ones that I have seen. Past that, you're going to need to get the dog vaccinated every three weeks. And then rabies at about 5 months. Then spay/neuter at around 6 mos. Good luck!
A Puggle will be a cool pet for you.

For housetraining tips go here - http://www.squidoo.com/puppy-housetraini鈥?/a>

And for other ';puppy training'; matters try this site - http://www.dog-obedience-training-review鈥?/a>

Good luck with your new pup.
try this site, it has some realy good advise. Kennel training, I believe you mean ';crate training';, is very helpfull with diciplining your dog and just giving him a nice place to call his own to ';chill out';, this would be a must if he his a house dog. It is a lot of work, but trust me it is worth it, and don't give up, you will be glad of all of the hard work that you put into your pup at the end, I would also suggest puppy school if it is avaliable where you are.....much help! It will also help enourmously with socilazation!

I'm starting an at home insemination tomorrow any tips or advice? did anyone get pregnant through this?

if you got pregnant how many atempts did you have to do? they say the success rate is the same as intercourse!I'm starting an at home insemination tomorrow any tips or advice? did anyone get pregnant through this?
I had the insimination but at a doctors office, they spun and washed the sperm and inserted 20 mil. the doctor inserted them with a syring and a tube directly into the cervix. Worked like a charm, 1st time. If yours is somewhat similar, you will probably have a good chance. By the way, we were trying for over 2 years.I'm starting an at home insemination tomorrow any tips or advice? did anyone get pregnant through this?
I haven't done this. However you are right it is the same precentage rate as intercourse (about 20%). It may take a while as they say it can take healthy couples a year to conceive. But I know plenty couples that got pregnant quickly so you never know. Best wishes!!!
I have not tried the home insemination. I hope it works..Baby Dust to you...

Going to brazil on 13th dec anyone got any tips or advice?

    Luckily for you, I'm Brazilian! ... :-)

Those who advised you to be careful were right, but you don't need to get paranoid! Just take some precautions, an have fun! The most important ones are:

1 - Get all the information you need before you leave.

2 - When you get here, get information at the hotel about what is safe and what is not safe to do.

3 - Don't walk around with a ';tourist'; stamped on your forehead. Observe us and try to dress and to behave like us. Especially, try not to draw attention being much nice dressed or caring valuable things with you.

4 - Get company to walk around.

5 - This is the most important advice: If you have bad luck and get robed ore something like that, DO NOT REACT! People are getting killed for less than a scream today! Be calm, try to communicate and DO what they want!

    Being precautious, you'll be safe!

If you want to know where to go and what to do, here are some few possibilities:

Rio de Janeiro -%26gt; Urban city and nice beaches.

Foz do Igua莽u -%26gt; Huge falls.

Mato Grosso (Pantanal) -%26gt; Fishing, living exuberant nature.

Nordeste -%26gt; Some little urban cities, really exuberant beaches.

    Amazonia -%26gt; Rivers, exuberant nature.

You should decide what you would like to be doing here before you leave. There are many possibilities, you just have to talk to your travel agency. Depending on what, you may adjust you route. You may dive, dance, rest on a nice beach, rest on a nice country resort, fish, trek... there are infinite possibilities!

We are friendly people, so be welcome! Enjoy!Going to brazil on 13th dec anyone got any tips or advice?
go to tripadvisor, they have a great network there to talk to people who have traveled there, as well as great ratings for places to stay, where to eat, what to see. I have been all over the world and if I return to a previous country I still check it out in case of changes or something i may have missedGoing to brazil on 13th dec anyone got any tips or advice?

don't say your in the london met police force as a firearms officer.
What yourself on Copacabana beach. The tide will pull you right out so that you need to be rescued by the lifeguard. Meanwhile some guy will run off up the beach with your bag.
get a brazilian (pube type hair cut) and be one of them !!
    have fun, and be careful
I am so jelous! What part? I have been dying to float down a part of the Amazon for about 10 years. My advice is to learn as much as you can about the area you are going to, the culture, the language, etc.

And take loads of pictures! Have fun!
I would recommend Rio de Janeiro (Sugarloaf Mountain) and the Iguazu Falls.
be careful!!!!and try to have some fun!!!!!!!
    try not to get murdered
    Ask oceandenis, he lives there.
just make sure you dont take any valuables with you. otherwise have a fab time im dead jealous

What is a good parenting book? I have a 2 year old and I need some good advice/tips on discipline, etc.?

I love Strong Willed Child by James Dobson, Shephearding a Childs Heart and Love and Logic. They have all helped me a lot in my parenting with my daughter. What is a good parenting book? I have a 2 year old and I need some good advice/tips on discipline, etc.?
    Try the Supernanny book.

    I know, I know. It's not what you had in mind, right? Me either. I combed tons of bookstores when I became a SAHM to my 2 y.o. and realized I was in WAY over my head. This one was quick, easy to browse and could be implemented almost instantly. In fact, it had so many techniques in it that I tried and then found myself saying ';Duh. Why didn't I think of that?';

Anyway, I've read a ton of parenting books, but many of them come from a specific philosophy or practice and are tough to adapt. While Supernanny on TV comes across as rigid, in the book, it's easy to adapt the ideas to meet the real world needs of your family.

It's one of my best purchases. ;)What is a good parenting book? I have a 2 year old and I need some good advice/tips on discipline, etc.?
Try 'How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk' by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. I've worked in daycares and clinics for the past 10 years and this is hands-down the best resource I've found for talking to and listening to children. 'Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood' by Fay and Fay is also a great resource. Both are wonderful resources for finding positive ways to develop relationships with your children and allowing them to make good choices on their own accord without being overbearing.
look up 1,2,3 Magic. It is a great discipline technique that doed not promote parental yelling etc. Works great for being consistant with discipline and is easy to implement.
The best advice you will get on disciplining your child will come from your parents and grandparents, you may not think so, but they are experienced and can at least tell you what won't work
Anything by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish

Hello fellow poets! So what are some good tips or advice for poems?

what are some good tips or advice on writing poems

    is there any good websites

    anything is welcome

i'd even really like it if you'd include one of your own poems

:)Hello fellow poets! So what are some good tips or advice for poems?
Firstly, learn the English language. Is there any good websites?

Most people do not benefit from instruction or advice in this regard, they can either write or can't. Poetry cannot be taught.

Your skills can be enhanced though by building a bigger vocabulary and exercising regularly.Hello fellow poets! So what are some good tips or advice for poems?
What i find useful is to create your poems based on your life and your experiences, escpecially when you go through something that really evokes a lot of feelings. Try to take that emotion and channel it into the lines of a poem. Thats what I usually do :) Like last year, I had a HUGE fight with this one girl who I THOUGHT was my friend, but she turne out to be a jerk. Long story lol basicly, she told our principle that my boyfriend was doing all these perverted things which NEVER happened. Throughout the whole episode, I tookeverything that happened and created about 8 poems about different aspects of eall of it- the fight, how i felt about it, why it happened, whose fault it was, whose side i was goinng to belive....everything. Just take things that really make you think or feel and make a poem out of it!

Recently Ive been going through depression, and one night I was feeling really down. I wrote this one poem:

    Tears

    My life

    Once perfect

    Is breaking,

    Shattering.

    I watch,

    As each remaining shard

    Is scattered

    And destroyed

    Before my very eyes.

    The cruel,

    Cold walls

    Of depression

    Consume me

    And I am falling

    Falling

    Falling

    An endless abyss

    The violent winds

    Of hatred

    The soaking rains

    Of malice

    Storm down upon me.

    Frantically

    I am searching

    For a light

    A single Flame

    Of hope.

    Yet each problem

    Thrown against me

    Is another boulder

    Balanced

    On my ever weakening shoulders.

    It's this never ceasing

    Burden

    That drags me deeper

    Forcing me further

    And further under

    Until I will surface

    No more.

Is there anyone who hears me?

    A single soul

    Who chooses

    To notice

    My desperate cries

    For help?

    Or am I completely

    And utterly

    Alone.

    Isolated

    In my pathetic existence

    That even now

    Is slowly

    Fading

    Away.

    Hope this helps!
If you can write what you feel, then you're pretty good off. I don't go to any websites, but for inspiration, I just sometimes go for a walk. You can find your best poetry anywhere.

Btw, an example of a poem I wrote:

    Night

    Darkness is the void,

Stars shine white fire in the black,

    The night slowly fades.

Just a short haiku could do the trick.
trust ur mind only poetry is not prose its unique

Need tips and Advice on becoming a pitcher?

I'm 18. I played wiffle ball with my friend all the time and I'm very nice with pitching.

So I'm going to try baseball for college.

How long will it take to master all these pitches?

My pitch might be 4 seam 2 seam sinker and knuckle

Last im 5'7 weigh about 135.. I can bench 80-100 at least.

How can I get more arm strenghtNeed tips and Advice on becoming a pitcher?
On the four seam and two seam it shouldn't take to long except to get movement on the two seam. you do that by putting pressure on one of the fingers you grip. Remember with movement on pitches its all about grip. Also to get more arm strength you would do some tricep extensions but you really get more velocity from your thighs your butt and your abdomen as you use all those to whip your arm down. So do some exercises to add muscle to those parts of your body and dont worry about your arm as muchNeed tips and Advice on becoming a pitcher?
College Baseball isn't as easy as you might think it is. I know plenty of college players and they have been playing baseball at a high level since they were 10. As a beginner, you need to see a pitching coach. Wiffle ball is A LOT different than baseball. The ball is lighter and the movement is A LOT different. You need to be able to throw different pitches 75-90mph to be a pitcher in college. Also, if you have no experience at pitching or baseball in high school, then it gives your practically no chance.
you can get more arm strength by lifting weights. using medicine balls and things like that. But the most important thing to have when pitching is control. thats the most important not speed.
do one arm push ups 100 at a time. also get a pitching instructor

I am now 18 years old and i live on the streets, i wish i never took piano lessons.I am starting piano on saturday and i'm kinda nervous any advice or tips?
Just pay attention and don't expect miracles. Be ready to practice daily. Don't practice long periods of time. It is better to do 2 fifteen minute practices than 1 thirty minute.

Always start with something you are comfortable with then practice something challenging and end with something fun.
learn the notes on the staff too, not just on the keyboard.
