Going to brazil on 13th dec anyone got any tips or advice?

Luckily for you, I'm Brazilian! ... :-)

Those who advised you to be careful were right, but you don't need to get paranoid! Just take some precautions, an have fun! The most important ones are:

1 - Get all the information you need before you leave.

2 - When you get here, get information at the hotel about what is safe and what is not safe to do.

3 - Don't walk around with a ';tourist'; stamped on your forehead. Observe us and try to dress and to behave like us. Especially, try not to draw attention being much nice dressed or caring valuable things with you.

4 - Get company to walk around.

5 - This is the most important advice: If you have bad luck and get robed ore something like that, DO NOT REACT! People are getting killed for less than a scream today! Be calm, try to communicate and DO what they want!

Being precautious, you'll be safe!

If you want to know where to go and what to do, here are some few possibilities:

Rio de Janeiro -%26gt; Urban city and nice beaches.

Foz do Igua莽u -%26gt; Huge falls.

Mato Grosso (Pantanal) -%26gt; Fishing, living exuberant nature.

Nordeste -%26gt; Some little urban cities, really exuberant beaches.

Amazonia -%26gt; Rivers, exuberant nature.

You should decide what you would like to be doing here before you leave. There are many possibilities, you just have to talk to your travel agency. Depending on what, you may adjust you route. You may dive, dance, rest on a nice beach, rest on a nice country resort, fish, trek... there are infinite possibilities!

We are friendly people, so be welcome! Enjoy!Going to brazil on 13th dec anyone got any tips or advice?
go to tripadvisor, they have a great network there to talk to people who have traveled there, as well as great ratings for places to stay, where to eat, what to see. I have been all over the world and if I return to a previous country I still check it out in case of changes or something i may have missedGoing to brazil on 13th dec anyone got any tips or advice?

don't say your in the london met police force as a firearms officer.
What yourself on Copacabana beach. The tide will pull you right out so that you need to be rescued by the lifeguard. Meanwhile some guy will run off up the beach with your bag.
get a brazilian (pube type hair cut) and be one of them !!
have fun, and be careful
I am so jelous! What part? I have been dying to float down a part of the Amazon for about 10 years. My advice is to learn as much as you can about the area you are going to, the culture, the language, etc.

And take loads of pictures! Have fun!
I would recommend Rio de Janeiro (Sugarloaf Mountain) and the Iguazu Falls.
