Im going to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time! Any advice or tips?

I dont know what show we'll see or where to sit. But I want to bring my own food and tea. Any inexpensive seats that are ok to see from. I dont want to spend a lot cause its my first time and i want to see if i like it than i'll go back again! Is the food there any good, what to eat and not?Im going to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time! Any advice or tips?
First of all, do a Bowl park %26amp; ride--they have outlying lots and shuttle you in--otherwise you will be in parking hell. Second, it is a bowl tradition to bring an exotic picnic basket--several delis even make them up (you can get boxed food there but it is a bit pricey); cheap seats are fine. Take a cushion %26amp; a blanket. I think you can bring tea in, it may have to be in plastic (not glass). They waffle about bringing your own wine. The hike in, and I do mean hike, is not for the faint of heart. Literally.





There is a very steep walkway in that seems to go on forever. Not for those with weak hearts, heavy smokers, wooden legs.





Remember that when you are packing. You don't want to carry 60 lbs worth of cheese dip. Consider something on wheels.





I don't recall the food, and it's probably over-priced. Bring whatever you would on a picnic.





And there really is no bad seats, so sit where ever you can afford.





And do take the shuttle.
