90 percent of tourists who come here don't have anything more planned than their hotel rooms, so do some research and make arrangements ahead of time.
If you can, make your trip midweek instead of the weekend. The nightclubs and shows are more eager to get customers then and you'll find much better deals (and your rooms will be way cheaper, too).
Don't count on getting comps or other favors. Be polite and patient to the staff you meet and tip well, and try and chat them up for advice. You never know; the bartender who gets you your beer at 2 p.m. might be best friends with the guy who works the door at the hottest club in town. Make a good impression and you might get on the guest list.
