Advice/tips on learning simplified Chinese character after traditional?

How would you recommend internalizing those simplified characters which bear little to no resemblance to the traditional forms (eg. 澱/淀)?Advice/tips on learning simplified Chinese character after traditional?
I learned them both at the same time, but you can try to learn the simplified ones the same way you learned the traditional ones. They`ll be much easier to remember in terms of strokes.Advice/tips on learning simplified Chinese character after traditional?
If you're having trouble learning characters specifically it may be worthwhile to first familiarize yourself with radicals. It's helped me a lot in my studies. For example, after learning that 目 (mu4) has a meaning for ';eye';, then suddenly the word for eye(s) 眼睛 (yan3jing) is ever so slightly easier to memorize.

In addition there are some pronunciation patterns in Chinese, so once you get used to some simpler words, you can have an easier time pronouncing words you don't know. For example 止 (zhi3) is pretty simple, and after you learn that and see 地址 (di4zhi3) you have a better chance at guessing the correct pronunciation for the second character. This isn't infallible of course, the pronunciations are -sometimes- similar and even then not always the same (like ';jing'; and ';qing';) and the tones are unpredictable as far as I can tell.

Those are just some tricks that I've used over the years that have helped me a lot. I hope that helps!

Still have questions, please click to here and contact to me! I'm a Chinese teacher!
You can't, i think it would have been easier if you had learned both at the same time.

However, all you need to do is learn the simplified characters the same way in which you learned the traditional ones. But now you may be able to see some resemblences and patterns which will make your life so much easier when trying to remember them.

All the best!
