Has anyone ever tried growing celery in a container on a patio? Any advice or tips?

Do you remember when we used to get decent celery that was properly blanched, not stringy and had lots of flavour? I hope to be moving to Spain soon and plan to grow some vegetables/salad stuff/ herbs, etc. on the patio. I want to grow some celery but I will only have a patio so it will have to be container grown. Does anyone have any advice/ideas on this?Has anyone ever tried growing celery in a container on a patio? Any advice or tips?
I live in an apartment complex and a lot of people are growing veggies on their balconies and patio areas. I live in southern California so the growing season is all year long.

I see most of the plants being grown in window boxes. Some, like carrots in 5 gallon plastic pails with drain holes. Some are growing tomatoes upside down from hanging pots. Celery does grow well in window boxes. The herbs are grown in their own individual pots an balcony ledges. Go for it! Good luck.Has anyone ever tried growing celery in a container on a patio? We are growing it in cut up pieces of drainpipe at the moment and it is going great guns-never grown it before so can't wait to eat it! Good luck with your move.
I read somewhere that you can pretty much grow anything in a container. We grew carrots in containers. They say the mini type of veggies are best though. Maybe check out hgtv.com for some more tips. Good luck!
