My parents' next door neighbor's dog developed high blood sugars and the doctor actually recommended a lower carbohydrate diet. They stopped feeding her from the table, watched the carbohydrate count, and even started making her low-carb doggy treats. She lost weight and now her blood glucose is under better control.





In your case it sounds like the disease is advanced, but I'm sure that the vet would tell you that reducing the carbohydrates in your dog's diet would help.
