Lots of factors to take into account. The type of soil you use, the depth of planting, sun, temp, amount of water, etc. Make sure you look at all the factors so that you can successfully grow a garden. And if you are in an area with lots of rabbits put up fencing(chicken wire works great) or your garden will not last long. Welcome to the joy of gardening! What I could tell you about starting a garden would fill a book. Gardening is not something you learn overnight. Realize that you are going to loose some plants, you will have to weed, water, and fertilize on a regular basis.











To start, you should decide if you are going to grow veggies and flowers. Learn what zone you are in and what plants will grow in your zone. Make sure whereever you put your beds there is enough light to support the plants you are growning. I suggest you contact your state agricultural center. They usually have lots of free information on their website and stuff they can mail you, if you'd rather. They will have loads of information that you will find helpful.





My last bit of advice.....gardening is hard, hard work. But at the end of the day, to sit and sip a glass of iced tea and admire the fruits and flowers of your labor, is worth every last backbreaking minute. Good luck, I hope you fall in love with the outdoors like many of us gardeners have.
well im about to turn 13 and i dont know much but i think you should get good soil and take away any weeds or rocks and there are some plants that grow well in different places and my dad is growing tomatoes and grapes and many other stuff so look up what is good for where you live before you plant good luck!!!
