Just got a job as a dishwasher, any tips or advice?

Yesterday was my first day and I have to say it wasn't easy at all. The only problem that I think im going to really have is that when the plates come out of the machine and are too hot to stack up right away so things start to pile up. Do you think that my hands will get used to the heat or i should use gloves or something. Anyone have any tips to make this job better?Just got a job as a dishwasher, any tips or advice?
You'll eventually get used to the hot dishes, maybe even build calluses on your fingers. Watch out for the Goat ;)Just got a job as a dishwasher, any tips or advice?
Your hands will get used to hot water/hot plates quickly enough. Best advice is try not to get cut. Also, do not put plates that have had over-easy eggs on them directly into the dishwasher without rinsing them first. The heat of the dishwasher will bake the egg onto the plate. And don't let the water in the dishwasher get too gunky.
Consider getting some heavy weight rubber gloves. They'll help with the heat and will also help protect your hands from the steak knives (I had infected cuts all the time when I was a dishwasher).

Soak your hands in peroxide or watered down bleach when you get home. Then rinse and use a basic hand lotion.
