Start your resume with basic details of yourself, including your full name and a headshot, contact details, measurements, hair colour, etc. Use a simple, easy-to-read font in black on white paper. Fancy typefaces and colours can be difficult to read.
Use headings -';basic details';, ';previous experience';, ';references';, in a typeface one size larger than the body text to organize the writing.
The best thing you can do is to list out every bit of theatre work you've done, under a title of the year you worked in:
2009
Theatre Co.'s production of *Show Title*
-performed in the chorus
Theatre Co's production of *Show Title*
-played the character *Name*
Where I have put asterisks, you should use italics.
If you are particularly skilled in, for example, singing, make a note of this. You may like to have a heading ';Other Skills'; under which you include the languages you can speak, instruments you can play, your voice span and dance styles you are capable of.
Write a cover letter for your resume, that says that you are really looking forward to auditioning, that you love the theatre, enjoyed working with you before etc, and what your proudest achievements so far have been.
The content of the resume will show that you have done lots of work but the letter will highlight the main points. If you like, you could include contact details of a director you have worked with before (ask them first!) as a reference. If you are happy with your resume, and update it regularly, you will be able to use it in the future for professional work (if you choose to do so).
The biggest selling point, of course, is your audition not your resume so try not to stress too much!
I prefer to not publish my email online for the world to see but feel free to add me as a contact.
