Cardio and weight training during the week for at least 2 hours a day, also practice your technique on each stroke for at least an hour. On the weekends play doubles with friends and after your match do yoga or some type of stretching. What can I do, at home, to improve my tennis skills? Any tips or advice or anything?
Take a piece of plywood - 4 foot by 8 foot - stand it verticle and cut a hole in it 12 inches wide x 30 inches tall centered 12 inches from the top. Put a net behind the board. tilt it back a few inches at the top say 6 to 8 inches and use the hole as a target for your serve. learn to hit the target serving as hard and fast as your can over and over again. Adjust the tilt of the board so that if you miss your target the ball will come back and you can hit again. Will improve your stroke and your serve.
Practice flexing your wrist. make your wrists move moveable!
Watch good tennis matches and get your fore arms stronger with some weight sets..
